Intern with Rideout Public Affairs, Inc.
Rideout Public Affairs (RPA) is seeking a state government relations intern for the 2025 Indiana Legislative Session. Applicants will have a paid, boots-on-the-ground role in assisting the RPA state government relations team, including having a daily presence at the Indiana Statehouse, covering legislative committee hearings, and assisting with weekly RPA publications. The paid position is available beginning in late December 2024 and runs through the end of March 2025 (with possible extensions beyond that).
The intern will assist RPA lobbyists by attending and reporting on legislative committee hearings, preparing weekly client reports on bills, amendments, and Statehouse activities, coordinating communications with legislators and clients, and researching relevant issues.
Our interns benefit from networking with legislators, lobbyists, and state government elected officials and staff, and from learning firsthand how public policy is developed in Indiana. Legislative interns have gone on to become lobbyists for state trade associations and legislative liaisons for state government agencies.
Applicants should have an interest in government, public policy, and/or political science, strong writing and organizational skills, and a desire to see the Indiana legislative process firsthand.
